Who I help

I help people who experience the following challenges:

Anxiety and low confidence

I aim to develop the individual’s confidence, self-worth and self-esteem so they are fully able to reach their potential.

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

As someone with ADHD myself, I have knowledge and experience with strategies that help children with ADHD focus and access learning.
 

ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)

I have extensive knowledge and understanding of ASC and autism strategies to support all areas of the child’s development.

DLD (Developmental Language Disorder)

Language skills, interaction and comprehension can be difficult for children and young people with DLD. Specialist strategies and ideas are utilised during the 1:1 sessions.
 

Dyslexia

I aim to improve reading, writing and spelling skills as well as associated needs such as processing and working memory difficulties of children with dyslexia.
 

Dyspraxia/Developmental Co-ordination Disorder

I aim to improve speech and language, motor skills, sequencing, handwriting and organisation skills and associated needs consistent with dyspraxia.

Dyscalculia

Maths can be a challenge for students with SEND. Dyscalculia specialist strategies and ideas are utilised during the 1:1 sessions.

Executive function skills

Cognitive skills such as task initiation, self-regulation, prioritization and focusing can be challenging for individuals with EFS difficulties. I work with pupils to support these areas through engaging activities.

Mental Health

I aim to develop a trusting and safe relationship with individuals who require mental health support or help with trauma.

Sensory Processing Disorder

I can adapt my teaching to ensure that the environment is suitable for the individual.

Speech and Language difficulties

As a speech and language therapist, I have the relevant experience and skills to help children access learning in different ways, e.g. with visual support.
 

Working memory and processing difficulties

I ensure that children are given opportunities to process

information to help them understand a task. I also ensure

information is broken down into steps to support memory.
