Testimonials

What my previous clients have said

Joy, Spain, Mother, online SEND tuition

Melissa has been fabulous to work with. We have been working with her for the last few months. Within the first month, she mentioned that my daughter might be dyslexic. She shared advice and helped me work with my examiner here in Spain. She was correct in her discovery and adapted her tutoring to fit my daughter. Melissa is so calm, caring, exciting and supportive. Thank you, Melissa

Joanna, UK, Mother, online SEND iGCSE tuition

Whilst only having engaged Melissa a few months ago, she appears passionate about helping her pupils progress and seeks to understand how they learn so as to tailor lessons for that pupil. For example my son has ADD and she seeks to ensure he is engaged without losing focus and works on issues that he struggles with in a way that he can engage with.

I would strongly recommend Melissa as a Tutor. She has been very helpful to my son over the last few months and continues to be so. His grades at school have improved, which I believe to be as a result of her tutoring. She is passionate about helping her pupils and I am very grateful for that.

Martha, London, tutee, online 11+ tuition

Melissa was really kind and I liked having tutoring sessions with her, and she helped me get good marks in my 11+ exams.

Victoria, London, Mother, online 11+ tuition

Melissa was really skilled at helping my daughter develop confidence in verbal reasoning and maths, she helped identify areas we could work on at home as well as gave good insight into the gaps in Martha's knowledge. She has a very engaging and relaxed manner which my daughter responded to well and we found Melissa to be a very skilled tutor, and felt that Martha was better prepared from entrance exams as a result.

Mrs C, London, Mother, in-person dyslexia tuition

Melissa was great - she did a really good job. Harry has been put up a book for VR at the start of this term and Sam’s hand writing has suddenly improved. We are very pleased!

Simon and Clare, Warminster, Parents, online ASC GCSE tuition

We asked Melissa to work with our son from the run up to GCSE mocks through to completion of his exams in the summer.  He has Autism Spectrum Condition and, whilst he retains facts easily enough, at school he was finding it very difficult to access his knowledge, organise his thoughts and understand the implicit rather than explicit meaning in exam questions.  We asked Melissa to help him in these areas.

Right from the outset it was clear that Melissa understood him, the way he thought about problems, and the difficulties that he was experiencing, in particular with organising his thoughts and structuring his responses to questions.  This understanding was fundamental to their successful relationship over the next 6 months which, despite our initial concerns, was very effectively conducted via video call rather than in person.

Melissa was able to assist him across a number of different subjects by identifying issues that he felt were blocking his understanding and by giving him techniques that he could apply, both to a specific subject and more broadly, whilst also giving him the confidence to “have a go” when previously he may have felt overwhelmed.  During sessions, Melissa was always calm and kind, impeccably prepared, and enormously knowledgeable.  Furthermore, she always communicated really well with us about what was working, what was not working(!) and what specific topics we needed her to focus on to make the best use of the time that she had with him.

Melissa undoubtedly played a huge role in allowing him to attain GCSE results that were, pretty much across the board, a grade higher than those predicted.
